More Setbacks

Can anyone guess what this is? Look close. Closer. Try enlarging. This is what I found on my living room floor this morning. And that long brown leg nad black snout on the left side of the picture was responsible for the mess. Foolishly I left a spool of thread within the reach of our sweet dog and of course he did what dogs do best, chewed and destroyed.

WIP

I'm in the mood to finish up a few projects. This doesn't happen very often and I'm hoping this feeling stays with me long enough to get a few things finished or out to be quilted. I started this wall hanging about two summers ago when my sister and I were spending every Thursday together just quilting our little hearts out. (She no longer lives near me). But I digress...I pulled this project from the cupboard and realized I only had four and one half blocks complete. Finished them up in record time and yesterday I began sandwiching. Sounds easy enough. Right?

Here is my helper, LisaLu. This definitely complicates things and doubles the time it takes to accomplish anything. What would I do without her?

Sadness

This is Fritz and she is missing. A week ago our hearts became heavy with the realization that somehow, without any of us noticing, Fritz had gotten outside. She is about nineteen years old and always lived inside. As a typical indoor cat she would sneak outside a couple times a year just cause she was nosy and she loved going under the neighbors back porch and getting all dirty. This time we didn't realize she was gone till the next day, then a cold spell came through here and the temps dropped to 3 degrees. We walked the neighborhood, we put up posters, we put ads in the newspapers, we offered a reward but thusfar, nothing. We miss you Fritz.

Is it over yet?

After weeks of preparation, Christmas came, even if we weren't ready. We had a wonderful day with our children and grandchildren, one of the best Christmas's ever. But...we say that every year.

I personally am glad it is over cause it is time to get back to quilting. I can't wait.
