I thought this was an interesting bit of information.
At five minutes and six seconds after 4:00 a.m. on the 8th of July of this year, the time and date will be;
04:05:06 07/08/09
Note that they are consecutive numbers. This will never happen again.

The Sisterhood Award

I have received The Sisterhood Award from Linda at Fiber Fabrications. Linda is a very sweet and busy lady who raises alpacas. I consider it a great honor Linda and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This award is a blogger's recognition of great attitude and/or gratitude.Now it is my turn to pass along this coveted award to friends I have made in the short time I have been blogging. I have met so many wonderful people who have influenced my life in ways I never expected. There are those who:
* have talents that leave me in awe
* educate me and enhance my talents
* touch my heart and emotions
* remind me of "home"
* challenge me
* and those who quilt with me
and I want to reach out and hug each and every one of you.
Within the guidelines of this award I now would like to pass this award along to...
Mary at My Needle and Thread by Mary
Natalie at Tin and Treasures
KARENDIANNE at Living Life at
LeeHaven
Lisa at Candle Lite Quilter
Rachel at P.S. I Quilt
Now it is your turn to pass this award along. Here is all you have to do.
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate ten for fewer blogs which show great attitude and or gratitude.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person from whom you received your award.
Thank you all for making my blogging experience a positive one.

NANNIE
Two days a week I have the pleasure of driving to the beautiful state of West Virginia to spend the day with my youngest granddaughter.
We have lots of fun together and she fills the house with her contagious laughter. She just turned two in January and is full of energy so when it is nap time, this Nannie also needs a nap. But nap or no nap by the time her mommy and daddy arrive home from work this old body is tired. I look forward to a nice warm dinner, cooked by my darling husband, and a couple of hours to relax while hand quilting. Last night I watched this

one of the best movies ever made. Life is good.

The Weekend
The weekends fly by so quickly especially when your time is spent with loved ones. Today we attended a birthday dinner for our oldest granddaughter. She will be 20 at the end of the month but circumstances necessitated that we celebrate early. What a wonderful dinner, cooked by my girls. It always tastes better when someone else cooks it.
Here are my oldest granddaughters, with the birthday girl in the middle. I can't believe how grown up they are.
This is what I've been working on this week. It will be a lap quilt for my mother-in-law who is confined to a wheelchair for an undetermined amount of time. I will attach a small gold border,
then another border of blue. I haven't even picked out the fabric yet, just trying to use up my stash.
